Artist Bio:
Verity Kizek is an artist living and working in Sydney, Australia. Her work is characterised by natural tones of olive and terracotta, as well as graphic blacks and charcoals.
The subject matter of her work largely concentrates on botanical forms, often featuring branch and leaf shapes - a reflection of her upbringing and heritage, surrounded by nature and the work of her great grandfather Sir Hans Heysen OBE.
Born in Melbourne, Australia, Kizek has lived throughout Europe and, most formatively, in Turkey for a number of years – providing a source of inspiration and sparking a love for the warmth of the Mediterranean. Throughout her work she uses precise graphic shapes that celebrate the beauty of the natural and the imperfect.
